BACKGROUND AND OVERVIEW

Sarah has a unique CV with over 30 years in the business. She has combined her work as an actor, director and producer with her training and experience as a writer, coach and mentor.

Sarah began her career as an actress in Kenya in Africa in the 1980s after a Masters Degree in Criminology at University of Cambridge. Arriving in Africa as a post graduate student she found herself working in films and commercials including 'Out of Africa' directed by Sydney Pollack and starring Meryl Streep. Sarah was invited to join Nairobi's Repertory company at the famed Donovan Maule Theatre where she became a regular performer. She also toured the country in such productions as 'Happy as a Sandbag' and classic plays by Alan Ayckbourn and John Cheever. Sarah regularly worked on corporate voice projects and a number of successful commercials.
On returning to the UK to raise her family Sarah re-trained as a Career Consultant and Coach at Manchester Metropolitan University, working with school leavers, college students and young people interested in going to Drama School to pursue a career in acting. Sarah then moved on to Career Consultancy in London, working with adults, particularly those seeking a complete career change. She worked with both Coutts Career Consultants and Right Management writing and presenting courses on career change and self-marketing. Sarah also worked individually with clients in the role of coach on their CVs, self-presentation and interview technique using video and group work as well as 1 to 1 counselling.

In the 1990s Sarah returned to a performance career, training at Guildford School of Acting, developing her singing as well as acting. Since then Sarah has worked regularly across all areas of the industry as a singer and actress, performing in theatre, film and television, as well as a voice artist. Sarah has clients across the spectrum including voicing numerous commercials and corporate projects. Her latest voice project is as Jade in the highly successful podcast phenomenon RED VALLEY. Sarah is also an experienced producer and director. Her productions include the 4**** reviewed FOUR BY TENN, An evening of Tennessee Williams' short plays and THE KILLING OF SISTER GEORGE for Artful Entertainment. She has also produced plays for ODDKASST THEATRE, Truth Talks and Master Builder. Sarah and was a founding Director and Producer for London Theatre Workshop, producing 'Just Another Love Song'. 'Fringe on the Fringe' - a Festival of 20 + new shows, A Catered Affair and The Laramie Project.

Sarah has a Master's Degree in Producing Film and Television studying with both Tony Garnett (This Life, Ballykissangel) and Barry Hanson (The Long Good Friday) going on to work as a script editor for Talkback Thames Television on 'Family Affairs'. Sarah's latest writing and directing project is her own play BLESSINGS which was selected for Riverside Studios Bitesize Festival in July 2024. BLESSINGS will have a full London run in Autumn 2025.
